Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, led a delegation of university executives on an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from October 25 to 28, 2026. The visit aimed to strengthen academic cooperation and foster international partnerships. During the visit, the delegation participated in the MOU signing ceremony with the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City (UAH), represented by Dr. Pham Trong Thuat, and attended the university's 50th anniversary celebrations.
Representatives from both institutions discussed opportunities to develop joint academic programs in graphic design and related design disciplines. Key areas of discussion included a one-semester student exchange program (Exchange Studio), a 1+2 Articulation Program, credit transfer arrangements, languages of instruction, and academic quality assurance. These initiatives aim to provide students with greater opportunities for international learning experiences and professional skills development, building upon academic collaborations established between the two institutions since 2025.
This official visit represents another significant step in the University of Phayao's efforts to expand its international academic network, enhance educational quality, and create learning opportunities in a global context. As part of the visit, the university delegation is also scheduled to sign an additional academic cooperation agreement with Can Tho University (CTU), Vietnam.
