Authority & Duties
The mandate, objectives, and authority of the School of Architecture and Fine Arts as defined by university regulations.
University of Phayao Act B.E. 2553
The University shall be an institution of higher academic and professional education with the objectives of providing education; promoting and developing higher academic and professional disciplines; conducting instruction and research; providing academic services to society; extending educational opportunities to the public; and fostering arts and culture for the benefit of community, social, and national development.
The University may be divided into the following units:
- (1) Office of the University Council
- (2) University Administration Unit
- (3) Academic Unit
- (4) Other Units
The establishment, merger, and dissolution of units under Section 7 shall be effected by a University announcement published in the Royal Gazette. The division of internal sub-units within any unit under Section 7 shall be effected by a University announcement.
Each unit under Section 7 (3) and (4) shall have one head of unit who acts as the commanding officer and is responsible for the affairs of that unit. The University Council may prescribe the number of deputy heads of unit to perform duties and assume responsibilities as delegated by the head of unit.
The head of unit under the first paragraph must hold a degree or its equivalent from a university or higher education institution recognized by the University Council, and must have conducted instruction or have administrative experience in a university or higher education institution recognized by the University Council, or have other administrative experience of not less than three years.
The head of unit under the first paragraph shall serve a term of four years and may be reappointed, but shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. Section 31 shall apply mutatis mutandis to removal from office before the end of the term.
The deputy head of unit shall be appointed and removed by the President upon the recommendation of the head of unit from persons who possess the same qualifications as the head of unit.
Acting on behalf of the head of unit shall be governed by Section 34 mutatis mutandis.
When the head of unit vacates office, the deputy head of unit shall also vacate office.
There shall be a Unit Committee for each unit under Section 7 (3), vested with authority and responsibility for the administration of that unit. The composition, number, qualifications, criteria and procedures for selection, powers and duties, term of office, vacation of office, and meetings of the committee under the first paragraph shall be in accordance with the University's regulations.
