Section 6
The university shall be an institution of higher education and advanced professional studies with the objectives of providing education, promoting and developing advanced academic and professional knowledge, conducting teaching and research, providing academic services to society, offering educational opportunities to the public, and preserving arts and culture for the benefit of community, social, and national development.
Section 7

The university may be organized into the following divisions:

  • (1) Office of the University Council
  • (2) University administrative units
  • (3) Academic units
  • (4) Other units
Section 8
The establishment, merger, and dissolution of units under Section 7 shall be announced by the university and published in the Royal Gazette. The internal subdivision of units under Section 7 shall be announced by the university.
Section 35

In units under Section 7 (3) and (4), there shall be one head of unit who shall supervise and be responsible for the work of that unit, and there may be deputy heads of unit in the number prescribed by the University Council to perform duties and assume responsibilities as assigned by the head of unit.

The head of unit under paragraph one must hold a degree or equivalent from a university or other higher education institution recognized by the University Council, and must have taught or have administrative experience at the university or another higher education institution recognized by the University Council, or have other administrative experience of no less than three years.

The head of unit under paragraph one shall hold office for a term of four years and may be reappointed, but shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. Section 31 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the early vacation of office by the head of unit.

Deputy heads of unit shall be appointed and removed by the President upon the recommendation of the head of unit, from persons who possess the same qualifications as the head of unit.

Section 34 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the acting head of unit.

When the head of unit vacates office, the deputy heads of unit shall also vacate office.

Section 36
There shall be a unit committee for units under Section 7 (3) with the authority and duty to administer that unit. The composition, number, qualifications, criteria and procedures for selection, powers and duties, term of office, vacation of office, and meetings of the committee under paragraph one shall be in accordance with university regulations.
