On 27 March 2026, University of Phayao participated in the "2026 International Symposium on Global University Partnership for Promoting Health and Environmental Sustainability" hosted by Nanhua University, Taiwan. SAFA presented the first SAFA International ARTS Exhibition, showcasing artworks from five countries, and received an international honourable mention award.
On 27 March 2026, University of Phayao joined the international academic conference titled "2026 International Symposium on Global University Partnership for Promoting Health and Environmental Sustainability." The event was organised by Nanhua University (台灣南華大學) in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and a network of academic partners, as part of the university's grand 30th anniversary celebration. The symposium served as a global platform for exchanging visions on sustainable development.
In conjunction with Nanhua University's 30th anniversary, the School of Architecture and Fine Arts (SAFA), University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Amres Thepma, Dean of the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, and Dr. Patcharabhorn Lueraj, Assistant Dean, organised the "1st SAFA International ARTS Exhibition" at the art exhibition space of Nanhua University. The exhibition aimed to build collaborative networks and exchange academic knowledge, arts, and culture between the two institutions.
The showcase drew participation from researchers and artists across five countries, including India, the United States, Thailand, and others — demonstrating that the creative works and research of University of Phayao meet international standards and are capable of making a meaningful impact on academic communities abroad.
The opening ceremony was jointly presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongsabangpho, President of the University of Phayao, and Prof. Chin-Hsung Kao, President of Nanhua University. In addition, Dr. Thanik Muenkhomwang of the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, along with a master's degree student from the University of Phayao, received an Honourable Mention for their poster presentation at the symposium. This international recognition affirms the quality of the faculty's researchers and students.
The collaboration between University of Phayao and Nanhua University also encompasses joint work on Cittaslow (Slow City) development, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable urban and community-based initiatives.
