Traveling From Bangkok

Official travel guidance from Bangkok to the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, University of Phayao, via three commonly used transportation options.

1) Traveling by Intercity Bus

  • You may take a direct bus from Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2) to Phayao Province.
  • Some services can drop passengers directly at the bus stop in front of the University of Phayao (please inform the driver in advance).
  • The travel time is approximately 10-12 hours, depending on traffic and departure time.

2) Traveling by Air

  • Take a flight from Bangkok (Don Mueang/Suvarnabhumi) to Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport.
  • From Chiang Rai Airport, continue to Phayao by van, bus, or hired vehicle. The journey is approximately 1.5-2 hours.
  • From Phayao city center, continue to the University of Phayao, which takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
train

3) Traveling by Train

  • Phayao Province does not currently have a direct railway station.
  • You may take a train from Bangkok to Den Chai Station (Phrae) or Chiang Mai Station, then continue to Phayao by bus.
  • Total travel time is generally around 11-15 hours, depending on train schedules and transfer time.
