SAFA hosted an international academic networking event featuring a lecture by Asst. Prof. Tien-Hsiang Huang from Nanhua University, Taiwan, exploring Feng Shui principles and environmental thinking in Taiwanese architectural design.
On 22 January 2026, the School of Architecture and Fine Arts (SAFA), University of Phayao, organised an international academic and creative networking activity centred on the lecture "Feng Shui and Space: Environmental Thought in Taiwanese Architecture."
The session was delivered by expert speaker Assistant Professor Tien-Hsiang Huang from Nanhua University, Taiwan. Dr. Somwan Phuawet served as Chinese–Thai interpreter, facilitating accessible knowledge exchange for all participants.
The event ran from 09:30 to 12:00 at room CE05202 in the New Learning Center Building, University of Phayao. It brought together students and faculty for an in-depth discussion on the relationship between traditional Feng Shui philosophy and the principles of spatial design and environmental thinking that underpin contemporary Taiwanese architecture.
This activity reflects SAFA's commitment to building international academic networks and exposing students to diverse design traditions from across Asia enriching their understanding of how cultural heritage and environmental ethics shape the built environment.
